1、輸送能力：輸送機的輸送能力是指單位時間內(nèi)輸送的物料量。在輸送散狀物料時，以每小時輸送物料的質(zhì)量或體積計算；在輸送成件物品時，以每小時輸送的件數(shù)計算。
2、輸送速度：提高輸送速度可以提高輸送能力。在以輸送帶作牽引件且輸送長度較大時，輸送速度日趨增大。但高速運轉的帶式輸送機需注意振動、噪聲和啟動、制動等問題。對于以鏈條作為牽引件的輸送機，輸送速度不宜過大，以防止增大動力載荷。同時進行工藝操作的輸送機，輸送速度應按生產(chǎn)工藝要求確定。
3、構件尺寸：輸送機的構件尺寸包括輸送帶寬度、板條寬度、料斗容積、管道直徑和容器大小等。這些構件尺寸都直接影響輸送機的輸送能力。
4、輸送長度和傾角：輸送線路長度和傾角大小直接影響輸送機的總阻力和所需要的功率。
